   The people in these pictures are direct descendants of John and Minerva Craycroft. John was the brother of my 3rd great-grandfather Edward Scott Craycroft. After living briefly in Macon County, Illinois, John's family migrated to Missouri.

This is the grave that Nellie chose to represent the grave of her son Maurice Leland Murphy.

When Leland's grave was moved from the battlefield to the American cemetery his marker was lost and no one could tell her where he was buried. This happened to many soldiers at the time.
